For ControlCert, impartiality is a fundamental principle and a non-negotiable requirement in all certification activities. As a certification body, we are committed to safeguarding impartiality, objectivity and transparency throughout the entire certification process.
Transparency plays a central role in our work and is ensured through clear requirements for both our employees and subcontractors. In addition, ControlCert maintains a continuously updated assessment model that includes preventive risk analysis to identify and manage potential risks to impartiality.
To further safeguard impartiality in certification, ControlCert works together with an independent External Representative who monitors and evaluates the organisation’s activities from an objective perspective.
The role of the External Representative is to ensure ControlCert’s impartiality and objectivity in all certification assignments.
The External Representative oversees the certification process and may provide independent advice in connection with assessments or other business-related decisions. The External Representative is also responsible for receiving and reviewing appeals, acting as an independent decision-maker with the authority to determine the outcome. When necessary, the External Representative may appoint a deputy to assist in the decision-making process.
Advisory Committee
The External Representative also convenes an Advisory Committee consisting of a broader group of representatives. The committee includes ControlCert employees, contracted auditors, clients and other stakeholders.
The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to provide a broader forum for discussion and feedback regarding ControlCert’s work with impartiality, objectivity, transparency and the overall perception of ControlCert’s certification activities.
